Medical insurance for Schengen visa through French Consulate?

Medical insurance for Schengen visa through French Consulate?
Has anyone recently applied for a schengen visa through the French consulate in New York City? I am having difficulty obtaining a letter with the specific wording that they need..this is from their website: Health Insurance Certificate (+ 1 copy) : a letter from your Insurance company stating that you will be covered, for at least 37,000 $, during your trip in Europe for any medical expenses, hospitalization and repatriation will be required. (The letter must include, exact wording, these three conditions of coverage.) Where did you get international medical insurance and was the consulate really strict with the letter they need?

Answer :
are you currently in the US? are you an intern or an employee for a US company? I am asking these questions, because there might be a less complicated way to go about getting insurance
