The Estonian health insurance issues in the European health insurance card, the validity period of up to 5 years to the children and youth up to age 19, but not longer than up to 19 years old. Since 1 January 2008, the European Health Insurance Card is issued by the health insurance for up to three years, the people of 19 years and older.The replacement certificate of the European Health Insurance Card is issued by the Estonian Health Insurance Fund, if the person desperately needs a certificate of insurance. The European health insurance card is received by the person within 10 days, the replacement certificate immediately from the local department or office of the Health Insurance Fund. The European Health Insurance Card might be for the person aged 15 years who applied for a passport or ID card. For the person under 18 years of the card by the parents or the representative of the young people could be applied.
